It’s almost guaranteed that you will miss something, whether you’re going on a work outing, a getaway with the boys or a romantic vacation. Apparel

Clean undies, with at least one pair of fresh socks a day are a must. Try to choose one that is multifunctional so that it fits for day and night when choosing what shirts to wear. You may want to change once or twice during the day if it’s warm, so prepare your clothes in advance for each day.

Shorts and t-shirts are important for a warm environment, but for your whole journey, don’t plan to stay dry. The weather may be unpredictable, so plan by bringing a thin, folding raincoat. The same goes for sneakers – don’t just pack flip flops, walking in a sudden downpour in them is no fun. For more formal occasions and trainers for regular convenience, pack these smart sneakers.

Documents need to be ready.

This should go without saying, as you don’t want to be the person who has left their passport at home. Make sure you already have a copy of your insurance policy, money including local currency, proof of accommodation and any prescriptions. When you’re travelling overseas, if possible, you must get the right visa as well.

Toiletries.

Try to remember what you do in your morning routine to help you when you think about what to pack. Grab a toothbrush, toothpaste, hair products and deodorant. A shaving kit will come in handy and shower essentials such as shampoo and shower gel will not be forgotten. Remember to pack most of these in your hold luggage while you’re going, unless you can pack them in clear bottles holding no more than 100ml to carry in your hand luggage. If you’re going to be warm somewhere, take some sun cream and a hat.
