It was the period which gave us Beyonce’s first solo album, and saw Justin Timberlake step out from the bleach-blonde shadow of NSYNC to pursue his solo career, eventually gracing us with unforgettable tunes such as ‘Rock Your Body’ and ‘Cry Me a River’. No matter what genre you were into, there was something for everyone.

In at number five is a ‘last but most certainly not least’ scenario. The standout track on Outkast’s album was explosive, all the way from the ‘one two three’ beginning, all the way through to the final ‘Hey Ya’.

Featuring perhaps the most simplistic drum tab ever, it was the go-to for many aspiring drummers. Despite its almost-monotonous simplicity, there’s just something about this song we can’t help but love.
