Set in a beautiful, old Railway Station in Swindon, Wiltshire, is the Great Western Railway Museum, aptly named STEAM. Now totally restored there are old train carriages and locomotives to admire there as well as the Royal Saloon from 1897 that belonged to Queen Victoria. Telling the fascinating story of the tight-knit Railway Community in Swindon, the museum has plenty of interesting personal stories all recorded alongside film archives.  Telling the true story of the famous Victorian Engineer, Isambard Kingdom Brunel and his part in the construction of the Great British Railway and the incredible feats of engineering he designed when it came to building bridges.

The intricate designs for the many bridges Isambard helped build would have been a carefully guarded secret and any paper copies that were no longer needed would have been professionally and discreetly removed and shredded by a company similar to http://www.printwaste.co.uk/confidential-shredding/confidential-shredding-swindon who specialise in Confidential shredding Swindon.  The more modern, efficient and confidential waste paper disposal experts of today are often called upon to carefully remove unwanted paper files that need to be shredded and recycled without any unauthorised access by other individuals.

Even the Clifton Suspension Bridge that spans the River Avon and the Avon Gorge, in the nearby city of Bristol is one of Isambard’s designs.  The total length of this incredibly clever and imaginatively designed bridge is 1,352ft and links Clifton to Leigh Woods in North Somerset.
