Travelling has changed a considerable amount due to the Covid-19 pandemic. It is definitely a lot harder to travel and many are deciding to forget it all together and stick to travelling within the UK. However, if you are determined to travel and have already booked your flights, it is important to be extremely thorough about checking all the requirements. Here are some things to remember to do before you travel abroad.

  1. Get vaccinated. This is now crucial to travel but many are reluctant due to hesitance, suspicion and misinformation from anti-vaxxers. It is natural to be cautious, but it would be wise to talk to your doctor so you can get all the facts before you decide. They may be able to help relieve some of your worries.
  2. If you are already vaccinated, you will need your card that proves you are as well as a document from the NHS, and proof using the NHS app. If you don’t have any one of these things, you will have to pay for a PCR test. It would be safe to book a PCR test anyway if you’re really worried or arrive at the airport with plenty of time in case you are delayed by tests or such like.

  1. Make sure the phone company you use allows you to make free international calls, or use data abroad. Contact Vodafone Drogheda for more information. This is important so that in case you have problems coming back into the UK, you can call from the country you’re in to here if need be.
  2. Lastly, check whether the country you are travelling to is on the red, amber or green list and see what requirements the rules are. Do not wing it, as if you make any mistake, you will end up having to spend a lot of money.
