The first thing that you will need to make the most of working from home, is the correct equipment. This is worth making sure that you have the best furniture that you can as you will be spending a lot of time here so want to be comfortable. Some companies offer next day delivery office desks if you need it to arrive quickly.

Decide where in your home you will set up your office. It may be a spare room, or part of a room that you can turn into an office. You may have room in your garden to add a garden office, which is a great way to keep ‘work’ and ‘home’ separate. The main thing is that it is quiet and free of distractions in the rest of the household.

It is essential to have a disciplined daily routine when you are working from home. Include all the tasks that need to be done and how that can fit in with your work – don’t be tempted to change the routine. For example, if you have half and hour for lunch, get away from your desk and take your half an hour, but no more. Remember to build exercise into your routine too, even if just a gentle 20-minute walk to break up the afternoon.
